After the unexpected passing of her 17 month old daughter Madeline, Heather and her husband founded Friends of Maddie. The foundation supports the families of critically ill babies by easing the transition into NICU life and providing an ally until the end of their child’s hospital stay. Through Friends of Maddie, Heather has helped hundreds of families during one of the most difficult times of their lives.

Heather is a nationally recognized fundraiser for the March of Dimes, having raised over $2650,000 in the last three years alone. Through the March of Dimes, she has spoken to tens of thousands of people, including members of congress, about prematurity and maternal and fetal health issues. Her annual March for Babies team “March for Maddie” is consistently the top family team in the Los Angeles region, and in 2009 it was the top family team in the country. In 2009 and 2010 Heather was honored as a top individual fundraiser, and in 2010 team March For Maddie was again one of the top family teams in the U.S.
